Quality Music For Themed Events

Martyn Oram  and  Mike Martin

We have been playing music for themed events for over 15 years,

and whilst being fine singers and multi-instrumentalists, our emphasis is firmly on entertainment, with energy and flexibility.

Connecting with an audience and involving them is a particular feature.

We specialise in music for five themes :   (just click on the name of the act to see more details)

"Luke 'n' Floyd": roots country, featuring songs from the old West.  Yee Ha !!!

with fiddle, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, guitars and harmony vocals.

"The O'Reelys": Irish traditional songs and tunes

with fiddle, banjo, mandolin, whistles, guitars and harmony vocals.

The O'Reely's have just returned from playing (as a five piece) on the maiden voyage of Brittany Ferries' new flagship "Pont Aven" from Roscoff to Cork return.   "The best Irish entertainment we've ever had" Brittany Ferries management !

"Hair Of The Dog": medieval minstrels

with violin, mandocello, guitars and harmony vocals

"The Three Amigos": Mexican trio

with violin, trumpet, guitar and harmony vocals

"Jolly Rogers": Pirates

with fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitars and harmony vocals

All of the above acts are available as a solo, duo, trio, four, five etc.

We can perform acoustically or with our own quality p.a. system, and are equally suited to a "concert" situation, or "playing around the tables".

We also have a musical comedy band, presenting a complete show:

"The London Philharmonic Skiffle Orchestra": 4 piece fun concert band.

with violin, mandolin, banjo, trumpet, washboard, suitcase, percussion, harmonica, double bass, guitars, accordion, musical saw, phonofiddle, ukelele, sousaphone and harmony vocals.

Celtic, Cajun, Klezmer, Cossack, Country Blues and comedy with the high energy and good humour of skiffle !

We can also just be OURSELVES, with a mixture of material - perfect for a party!

We have entertained corporate executives on the Eurostar Express, jaded travel agents at a 7.30am breakfast, and have played at numerous wedding receptions, birthday parties (a 21st, 50th and 80th over recent years) and even a funeral, playing an instrumental 'Danny Boy' over the coffin.

We had a long running residency at the Kensington Hilton, playing "popular folk music of the world", and another residency at the Langham Hilton's Empire Restaurant playing familiar instrumentals from films, shows, pop and jazz with a liberal sprinkling of novelties and the classics.   Throw us a request !!

Variations to the above and challenges have been successfully met, including
"Australian Promotion" (Rolf Harris meets Men At Work)
"Arabian Nights" (Ali Baba meets Tommy Cooper)
"Dickens Night" (Consider Yourself an Oom Pah Pah)
and many others.
